What is a vector?

In mathematics and physics, a vector is a mathematical object that has both magnitude (or length) and direction. Vectors are often represented graphically as arrows, where the length of the arrow represents the magnitude of the vector, and the direction of the arrow represents the direction of the vector.

Vectors can be added together or multiplied by a scalar (a single number), and these operations follow specific rules. For example, adding two vectors involves adding the corresponding components of each vector. Multiplying a vector by a scalar involves multiplying each component of the vector by the scalar.

Vectors are used in many different areas of science and engineering, including mechanics, electromagnetism, and fluid dynamics. They are also used in computer graphics and video game programming to represent motion, rotation, and other physical phenomena
